I want to inspire the people of Tennessee to discover nature through an appreciation of their water resources. I intent to facilitate this appreciation through the production of a 10-20 minute "open source" film about the streams, rivers and lakes of Tennessee representative of East, West and Middle TN addressing major features such as the Mississippi River, Cumberland River, Tennessee River and Holston River and people's relationships with all of these. An oral history of the people of Tennessee's connection to their resources will be woven into the film.
The final product will be an open source video/document for free use in perpetuity by water quality program managers and non-profits to connect with citizens encouraging them to take interest in the resource and the quality of the resource.
I am the manager of a water quality program in East TN and I would work with my partners throughout the state to distribute the film.
I would utilize the travel funds to help me get across the state of Tennessee so that I can collect content from East, West & Middle Tennessee.
The $1,000 would cover material expenses including additional production and field equipment including waders, a
waterproof camera bag, snorkel, external hard drive, custom audio score and lens for macro work to enhance the breadth of visuals in the production bringing out nuanced details such as bugs, water drops, texture, etc.
